π Ingredients:
- Β½ cup Moong Dal (yellow split gram)
- Β½ cup Masoor Dal (red lentils)
- 1 tsp Ginger Powder (or fresh grated ginger)
- 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1 tbsp Ghee (for tempering)
- Tata Salt to taste
- 4 cups water or vegetable stock
- Fresh coriander for garnish (optional)
π¨π³ Instructions:
- Rinse both dals thoroughly and soak for 10 minutes.
- Pressure cook or boil the dals with turmeric, salt, and 4 cups water for 3β4 whistles (or until soft).
- Once cooked, lightly mash or blend the dal mixture for a smooth soup texture.
- In a separate pan, heat ghee and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
- Add ginger powder (or fresh ginger) to the ghee and stir for 30 seconds.
- Pour the tempering over the dal soup. Simmer for 5 more minutes.
- Garnish with chopped coriander. Serve hot with roti or toasted bread.
