India Gate Classic Basmati Aged Rice - Two Years Old Rice
India Gate classic is an exotic class of Basmati. It embodies all the attributes of a true Basmati rice Grain. It is smooth, pearl white grain, extra fine and extra long. On cooking, the grains fluff up to more than twice the original length; and won't break or stick together.
How to Use
Pre-Cooking: Rinse the rice thoroughly.
Measures:
Open pan cooking - 5 cups of water for 1 cup of rice.
Closed pan cooking - 5 cups of water for 1 cup of rice. (The rice may require slightly more or less water to cook depending on how hard or soft the water is).
Add 1 tbs of butter or oil or margarine; and salt to taste.
Cooking Methods:
Open Pan: In a large cooking pot, bring water to rolling boil. Add the drained rice and stir gently. Cook uncovered for 6-7 minutes on medium heat. Drain and rinse with more boiling water. Strain excess water and serve.
Closed Pan: Bring water and rice to boil. Cover pan with a tight lid and let it simmer for 9-10 minutes. Remove from heat and allow it to stand covered for 5 minutes.
For Best Results:
Soak the rice for 30 minutes in lukewarm water prior to cooking; Use a large cooking pot with wider base giving rice maximum space to expand; Do not prepare large quantity of rice in small pot.
Storage
Always store India Gate Classic in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
